Coree Foster, Senior Political Advisor of leading Rapid City advertising agency, Robert Sharp & Associates, attended the Women's Campaign School (WCS) at Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut, July 16 - 20. She returns to Rapid City empowered with knowledge and inspired to make a difference.
"This was a phenomenal opportunity," says Coree, "I was surrounded by an amazing group of accomplished individuals, and I feel very fortunate to have been part of the experience."
During this intensive 5-day, 60-hour training-course, Coree was immersed in the art of advanced political campaign management. From strategic campaign assessment, budgeting, and on-line campaigning techniques to polling, utilizing media, and fundraising tactics, Coree was either gaining hands-on experience or motivated by veteran political speakers including Deb Sofield, Honorable Susan Bysiewicz, Cathy Allen, Ambassador Connie Morella, and Karen Petel.
Robert Sharp, President and CEO of Robert Sharp & Associates stated, "Coree maintains a degree in Political Science, and is passionate about current political issues. We are glad to support her aspirations to further her knowledge of advanced campaign management. She is a key member of our team, and we are very proud of her achievements."
The Women's Campaign School at Yale University is a non-profit program, sponsored by the Yale Law School. It was founded in 1993, and attracts both American and International students. The WCS program encourages students to make a professional, as well as personal impact on their communities by 'speaking out and making a foot print.' This year, WCS received over one-hundred applications from hopefuls, but only 53 were chosen; Coree was the only person selected from the state of South Dakota. This elite group consisted of women and men from across the United States, as well as Egypt, Indonesia, Burma, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Jordan, to name a few.
